Private Voice Study Program

Nothing will help your student advance more as a confident and capable young singer than spending some one-on-one time with a quality instructor!   If your student truly enjoys singing and sees this as part of their future (which I hope), they will thrive on the level of attention and instruction from our terrific instructors.   Almost every student that takes private voice advances to the next level of choir the following year.

LESSON TIMES: Each afternoon – 1:00 – 7:00 (see lesson times below)

MAKEUPS: TBD at discretion of individual instructor!

• Semester commitment is 12 weeks in Fall (Sept 19-Dec 16) and 15 weeks in Spring (Jan 17-May 11)
• NO lessons will be taught the weeks during certain holidays – See DETAILED SCHEDULE for lessons!
• Lessons will be taught during most school holidays or rescheduled at instructor’s discretion.

IMPORTANT DATES TO KEEP IN MIND:

Auditions for 2012 – 2013 choirs will be held mid-May 2011.  All students wanting to advance into another choir will be required to audition.  Membership in your current choir does not typically require re-audition, with the exception of Troubadours.

IMPORTANT NOTES REGARDING VOICE STUDY:

1. Commitment must be made for the full semester of study once it has begun.
2. Former FVHS voice students are given priority in selecting an instructor and scheduling.
3. Once all lesson scheduling is set, lesson times are to be coordinated only between student/parent and instructor (NOT Mr. Tison).
4. All lessons will begin and end ON TIME – do not be late because lesson time can not be extended.
5. 24-hour notice of lesson cancellation by student (for sickness only) will result in scheduling a make-up.  Less than 24-hour notice forfeits that weekly lesson (without re-scheduling and without refund).  Make-ups are at discretion of instructor and are scheduled by the instructor and student.

6.   60-minute lessons are possible (two time slots) – see Mr. Tison to arrange.

1. Payments for lessons will be made in advance of lessons (2x per semester).  Two post-dated checks should be submitted each semester.  NO LESSONS will be taught until payment is received.  SEE SCHEDULE BELOW. Checks are made payable to VMPA.
2. Payments for voice lessons can be billed to a student’s account IF the account has a fundraising credit sufficient for the private study payment.

• Place in PAYMENT BOX in Room 307 in an envelope with your name and choir indicated.
