We would like to welcome all new and returning students and parents to the exceptional and amazing FVHS Vocal Music Program and a new school year, promising to be an outstanding experience for students and parents alike. In his reputable tradition, Mr. Tison will be sure to present the students with beautiful and challenging vocal music to learn and perform in the upcoming concerts, competitions, and tours planned for this year. Additionally, we anticipate new and lasting friendships will be formed, a lot of hard work will be accomplished, and ultimately a lot of fun will be had in the process.
The Vocal Music Parent Association is a non-profit FVHS Booster organization. Our mission is to accomplish the following:
1) PROVIDE organizational and financial support to the Fountain Valley Music Program through Student Fund Raising, generous donations from our Friends of VMPA, Corporate Sponsorship, and Parent Assistance.
2) DEVELOP avenues of communication between the school and community through our website www.fvhsvocalmusic.com, our Vocal Music newsletter, “The Crescendo,” as well as through promotion and advertisement of upcoming concerts and events.
3) FOSTER closer relationships between parents and students as parents serve on the Executive and Extended Boards, chaperone concerts & tours, and the highlight, when parents and families attend concerts; experiencing the rewarding results of their student’s hard work and dedication in choir.
4) CREATE a positive climate where each student’s choir experience can build self-esteem, provide special memories, and enrich them musically. They have entered into a challenging, rewarding, and exciting program where they will learn leadership skills, hard work, time management, and how to have consideration for others by being a team player.
The VMPA is a team of supportive and committed parents who dedicate their time and skills to ensure these opportunities are afforded, as well as joining with Mr. Tison in an effort to keep this incredible program competitive and a leader among other high school vocal music programs throughout the nation. We would love for you to join us in this endeavor and we welcome your help and support in any way you are able to give it.
