The FVHS Vocal Music tradition is firmly grounded in the pursuit of excellence, and I am so pleased that you have chosen to be a part of an organization that is dedicated to the musical and educational endeavors of our fine students!
The Vocal Music Program has enjoyed a highly respected reputation throughout our community, state and nation for over four decades. Our program maintains an alumni roster of some of the finest and most successful students to ever walk across the graduation stage of Fountain Valley High School. Many of our graduates continue working in the music industry on a wide variety of levels. Following in those strong traditions, we welcome you to our family and look forward to the process of learning and development you will experience at FVHS.
In addition, our program relies heavily on the tireless energies, time, and support of our parent booster organization, the VMPA (Vocal Music Parent Association). I hope that you will “jump in” whole-heartedly and become involved in the many facets of one of the country’s most dynamic high school vocal programs and it’s phenomenal team of parents! Parents – serving with VMPA will prove to be a rewarding experience for you, as you help advance the growth of your own student and many others involved in the program.
The information contained in this Student/Parent Information Handbook will familiarize and assist you and your student in the basic procedures and various avenues of involvement in the program. Please read through it thoroughly, and get ready for an incredible year of great music, tours, festivals, and many other wonderful opportunities and events! We work hard, we sing hard, and we play hard!
